Once the iron lady of Lehra, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Punjab’s only female Chief Minister and five-time MLA from the constituency seemed unbeatable through the '90s and 2000s. But politics changes fast. In 2017, she lost her seat to Parminder Singh Dhindsa, and in 2022, she slipped further, finishing third with just 20,450 votes, far behind AAP’s Barinder Kumar Goyal and again behind Dhindsa.
