But under the AAP Government, Punjab’s debt has soared to around ₹3.82 Lakh Crores and is projected to near ₹4.17 Lakh Crores by March 2026, making it one of the most indebted states per capita in India at over ₹1.23 lakh per person.

With MGNREGA becoming Punjab Congress’s loudest rallying cry, a sharper concern is emerging.
