The irregularities came to light during beneficiary verification, with some employees allegedly failing to disclose their employment status. Has the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana exposed serious gaps in the Government’s verification system, or is the real failure in how public money is being monitored ?

In 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party swept Punjab with 92 seats and around 42% of the vote, raising hopes of a new political chapter. But by the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, its vote share had dropped to 26.2%. Concerns over drugs, unemployment, law and order, farmers’ issues and Punjab’s rising debt have added to public dissatisfaction. Internal dissent, resignations and allegations of centralised leadership have further raised questions about the party’s unity and governance. Is the Mann Government losing public trust because of its failure to deliver on promises or is AAP struggling to manage the gap between its political ambitions and Punjab’s ground realities ?
