As Congress prepares for the 2026 Assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, its alliance confusion is once again on full display. After repeated losses, the party needs allies to survive, yet struggles to trust them. Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress appears stuck between fear and indecision. Instead of leading coalitions, it often seems to negotiate from weakness. The poking question is hard to avoid. Has Congress turned alliances into an excuse to hide its shrinking ground strength, rather than fixing its own organisation ?
जब कांग्रेस, असम, पश्चिम बंगाल, तमिलनाडु, केरल और पुडुचेरी में 2026 के विधानसभा चुनावों की तैयारी कर रही है, तो उसकी गठबंधन को लेकर उलझन फिर सामने आ गई है। लगातार हार के बाद पार्टी को टिके रहने के लिए सहयोगियों की ज़रूरत है, लेकिन उन पर भरोसा करने में झिझक भी दिखती है। राहुल गांधी, सोनिया गांधी और मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे के नेतृत्व में कांग्रेस डर और अनिर्णय के बीच फँसी नज़र आती है। गठबंधनों का नेतृत्व करने के बजाय, पार्टी अक्सर कमजोर स्थिति से सौदेबाज़ी करती दिखती है। सवाल साफ है, क्या कांग्रेस गठबंधनों का इस्तेमाल अपनी घटती ज़मीनी ताकत छिपाने के लिए कर रही है, बजाय अपनी संगठनात्मक कमज़ोरियाँ ठीक करने के ?
As the Punjab Congress marches on the streets under the MGNREGA / G-RAM-G banner, its claim of unity looks increasingly fragile. While Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Amrinder Singh Raja Warring insist there is no factionalism, the repeated absence of Charanjit Singh Channi, along with leaders like Rana Gurjeet Singh, Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, tells a different story. Even with Bhupesh Baghel overseeing the state unit, key camps seem to be staying away rather than standing together.
