For many young Indians, student elections are their first experience of voting, campaigning and choosing political leaders. At Panjab University, student elections have once again brought questions of ideology, alliances, leadership and political influence into the spotlight, with the results also being discussed in the context of Punjab’s wider political future. Are university elections simply about campus issues or are they shaping the political generation of tomorrow ?
