As the Punjab Congress searches for a strong Chief Ministerial face for 2027, Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa is once again in the conversation. Interestingly, he was also a frontrunner during the 2021 leadership change but was not chosen for the top post. Later, he served as one of Punjab’s Deputy Chief Ministers and built a reputation for his aggressive stand on sacrilege, law-and-order issues, and sharp political attacks. With a solid base in Majha and administrative experience, Randhawa remains a serious contender, but the question is whether this time the opportunity will translate into the top job. After being a frontrunner once but missing the Chief Minister’s post earlier, can Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa finally emerge as the Congress’s CM face for 2027 or will internal politics again change the final choice ?
