But after his demise in 2018, the seat slipped away, and when the party fielded Bachitar Singh Kohar in 2022 to revive the family’s hold, he failed to reclaim it. With 2027 approaching, can Bachitar now create his own political identity and reconnect with voters, or has Shahkot moved beyond the Kohar legacy ? Should Shiromani Akali Dal trust Bachitar again or look for a fresh face ?
