With back-to-back wins from Ludhiana Central in 2012 and 2017, Surinder Kumar Dawar was once seen as a steady and trusted Congress leader. But the 2022 election showed how fast ground politics can change, even for familiar names. Years in power bring recognition, but they also bring higher expectations. As Punjab moves toward 2027, the question becomes sharper. Does Dawar’s long experience still connect with voters today ? Can Congress rely on his old base again or will voters look for a fresh face to take the fight forward ?
