These women are ageing faster, working harder, and falling sick quietly, while policy focus stays fixed on cash schemes and announcements. If hypertension is rising across districts like Amritsar and Ludhiana, among illiterate and labouring women, why isn’t routine screening, nutrition counselling, and village-level prevention a political priority ? Is the Punjab Government treating women’s health as a headline issue or only as an afterthought once elections, not emergencies, arrive ?
