But after leading BJP through a difficult phase and now being replaced by Kewal Singh Dhillon, many are wondering whether Jakhar’s role inside the party is about to shrink or evolve. With BJP still searching for a winning formula in Punjab, Jakhar remains one of its most recognised faces, but no longer its state president. The bigger question now is, has Sunil Kumar Jakhar been freed to focus on a larger political role beyond organisational responsibilities, or does his replacement signal that BJP is no longer building its Punjab strategy around him ?
