AAP’s much promoted “Sikhya Kranti” was meant to transform Punjab’s government schools but reports of basic gaps are now raising an awkward question. When even mid day meal funds are reportedly pending at around 1,435 schools, forcing teachers to spend from their own pockets, while children at Anganwadi centres are reportedly being given biscuits and toffees instead of nutritious meals, is AAP’s education revolution delivering transformation on the ground or mainly making headlines ?
आम आदमी पार्टी की बहुप्रचारित “शिक्षा क्रांति” का उद्देश्य पंजाब के सरकारी स्कूलों की तस्वीर बदलना था लेकिन अब बुनियादी व्यवस्थाओं को लेकर उठ रहे सवाल एक असहज तस्वीर सामने ला रहे हैं। जब करीब 1,435 स्कूलों में मिड डे मील के फंड कथित तौर पर लंबित हैं और शिक्षकों को अपनी जेब से राशन का खर्च उठाना पड़ रहा है, वहीं आंगनवाड़ी केंद्रों में बच्चों को पौष्टिक भोजन की जगह बिस्कुट और टॉफियां दिए जाने की खबरें सामने आ रही हैं, तो क्या आम आदमी पार्टी की शिक्षा क्रांति जमीन पर बदलाव ला रही है या सिर्फ सुर्खियां बटोर रही है ?

But four years into government, with unemployment still a major concern, the very constituency that powered AAP’s rise could become its toughest electoral audit. Can AAP convince Punjab’s young voters that the change they voted for in 2022 has actually delivered enough to deserve another mandate in 2027 ?
