Is the BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate selection mainly about recognising loyal party leaders or is it a calculated move to shape political influence in key states before upcoming elections ?

Yet when billions can be committed to missiles and fighter jets without hesitation, while domestic programmes like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) face scrutiny over a few dollars a day for low-income families, the contrast raises sharp questions. If a $3 million missile is justified as essential for security, but $6.20 a day in food assistance is called excessive, what does that say about how economic strength and human need are ranked in policy choices ? Is this consistent fiscal discipline or does it show that military power carries more political weight than social welfare ?
