According to public information, 37 projects in Punjab are being run by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) over an area of more than 1,300 kilometers, and many of these are still halted at various locations due to different reasons.

The Government of India has admitted in Parliament that the demand for DAP fertilizer in Punjab during the Rabi season was around 4 lakh Metric Tons. However, only 3.6 lakh Metric Tons of DAP were supplied. This is a serious concern because the area under Wheat cultivation in Punjab was record-breaking this time.
