Tarsem Singh DC was once Congress’s winning face in Attari, defeating senior Akali leader Gulzar Singh Ranike in 2017. But in 2022, the party denied him a ticket, chose Tarsem Singh Sialka instead, and then expelled DC for alleged anti-party activity. Since Sialka has joined the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress lost the seat, and Attari has slipped further out of its grip.
