Jasbir Singh Garhi, Former Punjab BSP State President, BSP’s candidate from Phagwara in 2022 (when BSP and Akali Dal were allies), and currently Chairman of the Punjab SC Commission, was expelled from BSP in 2023, for speaking against party leaders. In January, 2025, he joined AAP in the presence of CM Bhagwant Mann, praising the party for protecting the oppressed and saying BSP failed Ambedkar’s vision. Now that Garhi is in AAP, will the party give him the Phagwara ticket, possibly leaving Joginder Singh Mann aside or is it still uncertain ?
जसबीर सिंह गढ़ी, पूर्व पंजाब बहुजन समाज पार्टी राज्य अध्यक्ष, 2022 में फगवाड़ा से बहुजन समाज पार्टी के उम्मीदवार (जब बहुजन समाज पार्टी और अकाली दल गठबंधन में थे) और वर्तमान में पंजाब अनुसूचित जाति आयोग के अध्यक्ष, को 2023 में पार्टी नेताओं के खिलाफ बोलने के कारण पार्टी से निष्कासित कर दिया गया। जनवरी 2025 में उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान की मौजूदगी में आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल होकर इसकी तारीफ की कि यह दलितों और दबाए गए लोगों की सुरक्षा करती है। उन्होंने कहा कि बहुजन समाज पार्टी ने अंबेडकर के सपने को पूरा नहीं किया। अब सवाल यह है, क्या गढ़ी को फगवाड़ा का टिकट मिलेगा, शायद जोगिंदर सिंह मान को पीछे छोड़ते हुए या स्थिति अभी अनिश्चित है ?
Harpreet Kaur Mukhmailpur, the former MLA from Ghanaur, had represented SAD in 2017 but lost the seat. In 2022, the party chose Prem Singh Chandumajra to contest from Ghanaur, but he too faced defeat. Now, ahead of 2027, Chandumajra is part of the rebel Akali Dal faction. The big question is: Will SAD field Harpreet Kaur from Ghanaur again or will the rebel-faction dynamics complicate the choice?
