with approximately 156 market committees (APMCs) used for the purchase and sale of farmer's crops.

The highest number of markets are in Ludhiana, with 14 recognized market committees.

2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਗਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਰੇ, ਪਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ। ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਚੀਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ (ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ) ਦੇ ਮਾਨ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। 2027 ਵੱਲ ਵੱਧਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਵੰਡ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਕਰੇਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਪੰਥਕ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਦੀ ਗੁੰਜਾਇਸ਼ ਬਣੇਗੀ ? ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹਰ ਵੋਟ ਅਹਿਮ ਹੈ, ਉੱਥੇ ਕੀ ਖਿੱਲਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਾਤਮਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਕਦੇ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਸਕੇਗੀ ?

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੱਟੀ 2002 ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਲੂਆਣਾ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਰਹੇ। 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਟ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ। 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਲੜੀ ਅਤੇ 30,617 ਵੋਟ (24.9%) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ। 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਭੱਟੀ ਮੁੜ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਏ। ਹੁਣ ਭੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਸੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਨੂੰ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ 2027 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਗਠਨਕ ਚਿਹਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਦਾਅ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ? ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਭੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਹੁਣ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਕੈਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦੇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ?
