But in a state where law and order has remained a complex challenge for every government, the claim has also sparked questions about political assurance versus ground reality. Is the promise of “no gunshots in six months” a serious security roadmap for Punjab or another high-decibel election line that will be tested against reality once power comes ?

But with alliance possibilities with the Shiromani Akali Dal still uncertain and many aspirants investing time, money and mobilisation in their constituencies, the bigger question is about political patience versus personal ambition. If a BJP–Akali alliance does not materialise and ticket distribution becomes tight or selective, will all aspiring BJP leaders stay loyal to the party or could denied ambitions trigger dissatisfaction, rebellion or quiet political exits ahead of the 2027 battle ?
