With shootings, gang violence and extortion becoming regular headlines across Punjab, the focus now turns squarely to Bhagwant Mann. When killings happen in public places, during social functions, and criminals appear to act without fear, it raises a basic issue of governance. Law and order is the first duty of a state, when it breaks down, excuses lose meaning. If Punjab is slipping into fear and lawlessness under his watch, should Bhagwant Mann take responsibility and step down ?
पंजाब में गोलीबारी, गैंग हिंसा और जबरन वसूली लगातार सुर्ख़ियों में हैं, ऐसे में निगाहें सीधे भगवंत मान पर टिकती हैं। जब सार्वजनिक जगहों और सामाजिक कार्यक्रमों में हत्याएं होने लगें, और अपराधी बिना डर के काम करें, तो यह शासन की बुनियादी विफलता का सवाल बन जाता है। कानून-व्यवस्था राज्य की पहली जिम्मेदारी है, जब वह टूटती है, तो बहाने मायने खो देते हैं। अगर भगवंत मान के कार्यकाल में पंजाब डर और अराजकता की ओर बढ़ रहा है तो क्या उन्हें जिम्मेदारी लेते हुए पद छोड़ देना चाहिए ?
When nearly 40% of rural women in Punjab are hypertensive, this is no longer just a medical finding, it’s a governance test. These women are ageing faster, working harder, and falling sick quietly, while policy focus stays fixed on cash schemes and announcements. If hypertension is rising across districts like Amritsar and Ludhiana, among illiterate and labouring women, why isn’t routine screening, nutrition counselling, and village-level prevention a political priority ? Is the Punjab Government treating women’s health as a headline issue or only as an afterthought once elections, not emergencies, arrive ?
