During the debate on the Punjab Budget, Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh questioned why the AAP Government has still not presented a comprehensive agriculture policy even after four years in power. He also raised concerns about the ₹15,377-Crores allocation for agriculture, arguing that while crop diversification is mentioned in speeches and documents, there appears to be little urgency or seriousness to actually change Punjab’s cropping pattern or address the looming storage crisis for wheat and rice.
पंजाब बजट पर चर्चा के दौरान कपूरथला के विधायक राणा गुरजीत सिंह ने सवाल उठाया कि सत्ता में आए चार साल बीत जाने के बाद भी आम आदमी पार्टी सरकार ने अब तक कोई व्यापक कृषि नीति पेश क्यों नहीं की। उन्होंने कृषि क्षेत्र के लिए घोषित ₹15,377 करोड़ के प्रावधान पर भी चिंता जताई और कहा कि बजट और भाषणों में फसल विविधीकरण की बात तो की जाती है, लेकिन पंजाब के फसल पैटर्न में वास्तविक बदलाव लाने या गेहूं-चावल के भंडारण संकट को दूर करने के लिए गंभीरता दिखाई नहीं देती।
