Ranjit Singh Gahlewal contested from Samrala on a BJP ticket in 2022 but remained a marginal player, polling just over 2,300 votes. While BJP is still weak in Assembly politics here, the party is now trying to slowly make inroads through block samiti and zila parishad wins in and around Samrala. With this ground-level push underway, a practical question arises ahead of 2027: Can Ranjit Singh Gahlewal convert these local-body gains into real Assembly momentum for BJP or does Samrala still remain out of reach for the party ?
रंजीत सिंह गहलेवाल ने 2022 में समराला से भाजपा के टिकट पर चुनाव लड़ा था, लेकिन उन्हें सिर्फ 2,300 के करीब वोट ही मिले और वे हाशिये पर ही रहे। भले ही विधानसभा स्तर पर भाजपा अब भी कमजोर है, लेकिन पार्टी अब समराला और आसपास के इलाकों में ब्लॉक समिति और ज़िला परिषद की जीत के ज़रिए धीरे-धीरे ज़मीन तैयार करने की कोशिश कर रही है। ऐसे में 2027 से पहले एक व्यावहारिक सवाल उठता है, क्या रंजीत सिंह गहलेवाल इन स्थानीय स्तर की जीतों को भाजपा के लिए विधानसभा की मज़बूती में बदल पाएंगे या समराला अब भी पार्टी की पहुंच से बाहर रहेगा ?
Raghunath Singh Rana contested the 2022 Assembly election from Dasua on a BJP ticket and currently serves as the BJP in-charge of the constituency. Yet, despite holding both an electoral and organisational role, the party finished third in 2022 and has struggled to build visible momentum on the ground. As 2027 draws closer, a sharper question is now being asked: Will BJP continue with Raghunath Singh Rana to strengthen its base in Dasua or could the party look for a new face if results and ground presence do not improve ?
