Jeet Mohinder Singh fought the 2022 Assembly election from Talwandi Sabo on an Akali Dal ticket, secured 33,501 votes (25.7%), and still lost. In 2023, he joined the Congress. In 2024, Congress made a high-stakes move by fielding him from Bathinda in the Lok Sabha election. The bet failed, and the party suffered a clear defeat. After two back-to-back losses, the key question now is this, can Congress project him as its face from Talwandi Sabo in 2027, sidelining Khushbaz Singh Jattana ? Or will he look to switch sides again, possibly returning to the Akali Dal ?

For a party working on its revival across the state, the close contest sent a clear signal. So the question is, does this performance mark the return of Shiromani Akali Dal as a serious force, and could candidates like Noni Mann play a key role in pushing that revival further by 2027 ?
