Amrik Singh Dhillon remains one of the most recognisable names in Samrala politics. As a four-time MLA, he built deep roots during his long Congress career. After being denied a ticket in 2022, he joined the BJP, but in 2023, he returned to the Congress fold, adding another turn to his political journey. As Congress now looks ahead to 2027 and searches for a viable face in Samrala, will the party try to keep the Dhillon legacy alive by fielding his son Kamaljit Singh Dhillon or his grandson Karanveer Singh Dhillon or is it finally the time to move beyond the Dhillon era altogether ?
