But the same strategy could also create a new problem for the SAD, if BJP begins attracting voters who once supported the alliance, the Akalis could find their own political space shrinking. So, as BJP prepares to contest all 117 seats independently, could BJP’s attempt to grow in Punjab end up weakening SAD even further ?
