For years, he represented experience, organisation, and electoral control in the constituency. But after his heavy defeat in 2022, the political picture looks far less certain, with new forces rising and old dominance weakened. As Punjab moves toward 2027, the real question is whether Dharamsot still has one more serious contest left in him, or whether Nabha has already turned the page toward a new era. Is he still Congress’s natural comeback face, or has time and voter mood moved beyond his chapter ?

But after the 2022 elections, his public political role has turned noticeably quieter. Having spoken about the right time to pass the baton to youth, and with his son Mohit Mohindra now more active, speculation has grown that he may have largely handed over the family’s frontline political space. As Punjab moves toward 2027, the key question is whether Brahm Mohindra could still return for one final electoral contest if the party needs experience, or whether he has effectively closed his own contesting chapter and shifted fully into mentor mode.
