With just 8,220 votes (8.35%) in 2022, the Shiromani Akali Dal’s result in Ludhiana Central raised serious questions about its direction in the seat. Pritpal Singh Pali was left far from the main contest as urban voters clearly shifted away. As 2027 comes closer, should Akali Dal continue with Pali in Ludhiana Central or is this the moment to bring in a younger face to signal change ? And if the party avoids renewal again, does it risk slipping further out of relevance in Ludhiana Central ?
