But when a former ED officer joined citing issues like drugs, corruption and gangsters, only to leave within four days over what he called “non-negotiable” differences and the need for constitutional conduct, does this expose a deeper problem: can the outfit build a broad political platform when its own political position remains unclear ?

Sukhbir Singh Badal has announced a long list of promises, including filling three Lakh government vacancies within a year, reserving jobs for Punjabis, 75% local jobs in industries receiving incentives, interest-free loans for youth, higher Shagun assistance and increased old-age pensions. With Punjab’s debt projected to reach nearly ₹4.48 Lakh Crores, is announcing such a long list of promises financially responsible or should Sukhbir Singh Badal first explain how Punjab will afford them ?
