As Punjab moves toward 2027, the real question inside Congress is whether the party will once again trust experience, legacy, and name recall by fielding Karan Kaur Brar, or whether it will decide that Muktsar now needs a fresh face to stay competitive. Jagmohan Singh Kang has seen almost every turn in Punjab politics, winning from Morinda and Kharar, serving as minister, leaving Congress for AAP in 2022 with his sons, and then returning to Congress in 2024. With decades of experience and name recognition, he remains a known face, but repeated party switches have also raised questions about political consistency. As Punjab moves toward 2027 and ticket battles grow sharper, the key issue is whether Kang’s long experience still gives him an edge, or whether newer faces and loyalty concerns could limit his comeback chances.
