The high command has backed Raja Warring as Punjab Congress President, but the rebellion inside the party shows no signs of cooling down. Rebel leaders continue to hold their own meetings under the Congress banner, while Warring’s supporters insist that the official leadership has already been decided. Bhupesh Baghel’s unity efforts have also failed to end the standoff. With ticket distribution and the 2027 election strategy looming large, Punjab Congress now faces a rather awkward question: who actually controls the party, the high command, the PCC President, the rebels or has the factional war itself taken control ?
कांग्रेस हाईकमान ने राजा वड़िंग को पंजाब कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष बनाए रखने का फैसला किया है, लेकिन पार्टी के भीतर बगावत थमने का नाम नहीं ले रही। बागी नेता कांग्रेस के बैनर तले अलग-अलग बैठकें कर रहे हैं, जबकि वड़िंग समर्थकों का कहना है कि आधिकारिक नेतृत्व पर फैसला साफ है। भूपेश बघेल की एकजुटता की कोशिशें भी गुटबाजी खत्म नहीं कर पाई हैं। 2027 के चुनाव और टिकट बंटवारे की लड़ाई सामने है। ऐसे में बड़ा सवाल यही है: पंजाब कांग्रेस को आखिर कौन चला रहा है, हाईकमान, PCC अध्यक्ष, बागी गुट या अब खुद गुटबाजी ही पार्टी पर हावी हो गई है ?
Punjab Congress’s internal battle is no longer just a leadership dispute. The Channi–Randhawa camp’s open challenge to Raja Warring and the state leadership has put the high command in a difficult spot ahead of 2027. After repeated attempts to manage the differences, the bigger question is whether Delhi still has the authority to bring the warring camps under one roof ? Has Punjab Congress reached a point where the leaders are calling the shots and the high command is simply trying to catch up ?
