In 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party came to power promising a major change in Punjab’s politics and governance. Four years later, the party is defending its record on jobs, drugs, farmers, law and order, education, healthcare and the state’s finances. Is the gap between what was promised and what people see today becoming a political problem for the party ?

The BJP is talking about forming its own Government in Punjab and has begun a much more aggressive push ahead of 2027. But unlike AAP, which has Bhagwant Mann as its chief face, and Congress and SAD, which have familiar Punjab leaders, the BJP’s state-level leadership remains less clearly identified with a single mass leader. Can the BJP convince Punjab that it is ready to govern when voters are still unsure who would actually lead the Government ?
