Has any measure been taken to stop and encourage the big industries going to other states in Punjab itself and has objection been raised on the concessions which are being given to the neighbouring states without any demand or need?
For years, the Akali Dal’s strongest political identity has been linked with rural Punjab, farmers and its Panthic base. But with the BJP strengthening its urban Hindu vote and AAP and Congress competing across both cities and villages, the SAD faces a bigger question before 2027: Can it remain a serious statewide force without making a stronger pitch to urban Punjab ? What should the Akali Dal do to expand its urban support ?

But after the party’s electoral decline and the rise of other political voices, can Sukhbir Singh Badal realistically depend on Sikh support alone to make a comeback in 2027 Or does the Akali Dal still need the Hindu vote and a possible alliance with the BJP to build a winning coalition ? The bigger question is whether Sukhbir Singh Badal can rebuild the party’s Sikh support strongly enough, or whether Punjab’s electoral maths forces the Akali Dal to look beyond its traditional base ?
