With rising concerns over drugs, unemployment, farmer distress, law and order, and growing public debate around governance in Punjab, the Congress is once again trying to position itself as the alternative ahead of 2027. But after losing power in 2022 and failing to dominate the opposition space consistently, the bigger question now is whether Punjab voters are truly ready to give Congress another chance, or whether the party still carries the baggage of its past governments. As public anger shifts issue by issue, can Congress reconnect with young voters, farmers, and urban Punjab strongly enough to stage a comeback, or has Punjab politics already moved into a completely new era ?
Even after Congress suffered major setbacks across several states, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring remains confident that Punjab will become the party’s big comeback story. But with BJP expanding aggressively, AAP still in power, and Shiromani Akali Dal trying to regain Panthic space, is Congress seriously reading Punjab’s political mood, or still living in denial ? While Warring mocks the BJP’s Punjab ambitions, many may ask whether Congress itself has failed to introspect after repeated defeats. And in this crowded political battle, can Congress really assume Punjab is headed for a simple fight while both BJP and Akali Dal continue rebuilding ?
