The idea of industrial development in any state can be gauged from new industrial power connections in a state. Punjab, with 23 districts, has around 3,400 new industrial connections.
While the BJP is aggressively reshuffling leadership, holding strategy meetings, expanding its organisation and preparing for 2027, Punjab Congress often appears stuck in a permanent waiting room of internal discussions, factional calculations and missed opportunities. At a time when the ruling AAP is facing visible anti-incumbency and opposition space is clearly up for grabs, one uncomfortable question keeps surfacing: is Punjab Congress trying to win the next election, or simply hoping its rivals lose it for them ? And in a state where politics rarely rewards inactivity, can a party afford to move at walking speed while its competitors are already sprinting toward 2027 ?
