Kewal Singh Dhillon's takeover as Punjab BJP Chief was meant to showcase a united and expanding party. Yet the absence of several high-profile former AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, including Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh and Rajinder Gupta, became a talking point of its own. Their absence has revived an old question about Punjab BJP's growing collection of political imports while many leaders have crossed over in search of a larger role, not everyone appears equally visible when key organisational moments arrive. As the BJP prepares for a crucial battle in 2027, are Punjab's former AAP faces becoming central players in the party's plans, or are some already discovering that joining the BJP and shaping its future are two very different things ?
Just days after Capt Amarinder Singh publicly questioned Kewal Singh Dhillon's appointment as Punjab BJP Chief, Preneet Kaur stepped forward to offer him her "full support" and stress the importance of unity. In Punjab politics, where mixed signals often travel faster than official statements, the contrast did not go unnoticed. This has sparked an amusing political question when a husband raises doubts and a wife offers complete backing, which message is the party actually supposed to follow ? And was Preneet Kaur subtly playing the role of BJP's damage-control ambassador while everyone else was still debating the appointment ? If so, could such public displays of loyalty and discipline eventually strengthen her own standing within the party, or are they simply expected duties of a team player ?
