But university elections and student movements are showing that young voters may want more than politicians who understand their memes, they want leaders who understand their problems. Is student politics becoming the place where Gen Z tests whether “youth-friendly” politics is actually youth-responsive politics ?

Gen Z is more connected online than ever, but many young people are also feeling lonely and say they have fewer close friends. Social media and endless scrolling may be part of the problem, while rising housing costs, job pressure and uncertainty about the future are making young life even harder. So, is Gen Z becoming more connected online but lonelier in real life ?
