Nimisha Mehta’s political journey has already seen sharp turns, from Congress links, to joining BJP, getting expelled for indiscipline, and then being welcomed back into the same party within months. Despite losing from Garhshankar in 2022, she has remained active and is still seen as a vocal face with some local influence in the constituency. Her return also suggests BJP believes leaders with ground visibility are still valuable in Punjab, even after public controversies. The bigger question now is whether Nimisha Mehta’s comeback to BJP is the start of a serious second innings in Garhshankar politics, or simply a temporary adjustment before the next ticket battle begins. Can a leader who has changed camps and returned after expulsion rebuild trust with voters, or will party turbulence continue to define her political image ?
निमिषा मेहता का राजनीतिक सफर पहले ही कई तेज मोड़ देख चुका है, कांग्रेस से जुड़ाव, फिर भाजपा में शामिल होना, अनुशासनहीनता के आरोप में निष्कासन, और कुछ ही महीनों बाद उसी पार्टी में वापसी। 2022 में गढ़शंकर से हारने के बावजूद, वह सक्रिय रहीं और अब भी क्षेत्र में एक मुखर चेहरा तथा कुछ स्थानीय प्रभाव रखने वाली नेता मानी जाती हैं। उनकी वापसी यह भी दिखाती है कि पंजाब में ज़मीनी पहचान रखने वाले नेताओं को भाजपा अब भी महत्व देती है, चाहे विवाद साथ क्यों न रहे हों। अब बड़ा सवाल यह है कि क्या निमिषा मेहता की भाजपा में वापसी गढ़शंकर राजनीति में गंभीर दूसरी पारी की शुरुआत है, या सिर्फ अगली टिकट लड़ाई से पहले का अस्थायी समीकरण। क्या दल बदलने और निष्कासन के बाद लौटी नेता मतदाताओं का भरोसा फिर जीत पाएगी, या राजनीतिक उथल-पुथल ही उनकी पहचान बनी रहेगी ?
Charanjit Singh Brar has seen many political turns, from being a senior Akali face and once Sukhbir Singh Badal’s former OSD, to joining breakaway Akali camps, resigning over internal dissatisfaction, and now entering BJP. He also contested the 2022 Assembly elections from Rajpura on an Akali Dal ticket, showing he still sees the constituency as an important political base. With BJP trying to grow in Punjab, leaders with experience, strategy sense, and local networks may again become valuable.
