Why is Punjab opposition leader Partap Singh Bajwa not raising his voice against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at the moment, has he taken a vow of silence?
The BJP’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra is taking its campaign to drug-affected areas and bringing affected families into meetings with senior leaders. The party workers have been asked to bring 20–30 affected families from each halqa or mandal for these interactions. But residents say that political campaigns have failed to deliver the real solution they have been waiting for. If BJP’s answer to Punjab’s drug crisis is another political yatra and public meetings, when will the campaign move from collecting crowds to showing a clear, measurable solution ?
भाजपा की नशा मुक्त पंजाब यात्रा नशे से प्रभावित इलाकों में पहुंच रही है और प्रभावित परिवारों को वरिष्ठ नेताओं के साथ बैठकों में शामिल किया जा रहा है। पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं से हर हलके या मंडल से 20–30 प्रभावित परिवारों को इन बैठकों में लाने के लिए कहा गया है। लेकिन स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि राजनीतिक अभियानों के बावजूद उन्हें अब तक उस वास्तविक समाधान का इंतजार है, जिसकी उन्हें लंबे समय से जरूरत है। अगर पंजाब के नशे के संकट का जवाब एक और राजनीतिक यात्रा और जनसभाएं हैं, तो यह अभियान भीड़ जुटाने से आगे बढ़कर स्पष्ट और मापने योग्य समाधान कब दिखाएगा ?

But here’s the uncomfortable question for Punjab BJP’s local leaders: if national faces are doing the talking, leading the rallies and attracting the crowds, what exactly is left for the state leaders to own ? And when election day comes, who will actually have the local network strong enough to bring those votes to the BJP ?
