Ravneet Bittu has been allocated the Food Processing ministry, will he be able to bring in any real change? Notably, this ministry was earlier held by Harsimrat Badal.
Shiromani Akali Dal has not managed to make any breakthrough in Bhoa for years. In 2022, the party didn’t even field its own candidate and instead relied on BSP’s Rakesh Kumar, but he too failed to create any impact and later shifted to the BJP. With zero visible presence on the ground and 2027 approaching fast, the big question now is, Will Akali Dal finally field a serious candidate in Bhoa for 2027 or has the party silently written off a seat where even its alliance pick couldn’t make a dent ?
शिरोमणि अकाली दल कई सालों से भोआ में कोई पकड़ नहीं बना पाया है। 2022 में पार्टी ने अपना उम्मीदवार भी नहीं उतारा और BSP के राकेश कुमार पर भरोसा किया लेकिन वह भी कोई असर नहीं दिखा पाए और बाद में भाजपा में चले गए। ज़मीन पर पार्टी की मौजूदगी लगभग ख़त्म है और 2027 करीब है। तो सवाल यह उठता है, क्या अकाली दल 2027 में भोआ से कोई मज़बूत उम्मीदवार उतारेगा या जिस सीट पर गठबंधन का उम्मीदवार भी प्रभाव नहीं डाल सका, उसे पार्टी ने छोड़ ही दिया है ?
Sucha Singh Langah was once the most formidable Akali face in Dera Baba Nanak, giving tough fights to Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in 2012 and 2017, even though he lost both times. But his rise collapsed overnight after the 2017 scandal and completely wiped him out of Punjab politics. After being acquitted in 2018 and receiving religious reprieve in 2022, the SAD has now brought him back as Gurdaspur district president, while his son Sonu Langah has been appointed constituency in-charge of Dera Baba Nanak. Is SAD preparing Sucha Singh Langah himself for a dramatic 2027 return or is the party actually grooming Sonu Langah as the next-generation face, using his father’s comeback only as a political launchpad ?
