Ravneet Bittu has been allocated the Food Processing ministry, will he be able to bring in any real change? Notably, this ministry was earlier held by Harsimrat Badal.
Earlier this year, Punjab Congress spoke of giving 60–70% tickets to young candidates in the 2027 Assembly elections, calling youth leadership the party's future. But months later, the party remains consumed by leadership uncertainty, with the high command still struggling to finalise its top leadership. The question is: If Congress cannot decide who should lead the party today, how will it deliver on its promise to hand over the future to the youth tomorrow ? Has the promise of generational change quietly been pushed aside by the survival battle of the old guard ? And as veterans continue to dominate every major decision, is Congress truly preparing the next generation, or simply asking it to wait one more election ?
इस साल की शुरुआत में पंजाब कांग्रेस ने 2027 विधानसभा चुनाव में 60–70% टिकट युवाओं को देने की बात कही थी और युवा नेतृत्व को पार्टी का भविष्य बताया था। लेकिन कई महीने बाद भी पार्टी खुद नेतृत्व संकट में उलझी हुई है और हाईकमान अब तक शीर्ष नेतृत्व पर फैसला नहीं ले पाया है। सवाल यह है: अगर कांग्रेस आज यह तय नहीं कर पा रही कि पार्टी का नेतृत्व कौन करेगा, तो कल युवाओं को नेतृत्व सौंपने का अपना वादा कैसे निभाएगी ? क्या पीढ़ीगत बदलाव का वादा पुराने नेताओं की राजनीति में कहीं दब गया है ? और जब हर बड़ा फैसला अब भी वरिष्ठ नेता ही ले रहे हैं, तो क्या कांग्रेस सचमुच अगली पीढ़ी तैयार कर रही है, या युवाओं से सिर्फ़ एक और चुनाव इंतज़ार करने को कह रही है ?
