Ravneet Bittu has been allocated the Food Processing ministry, will he be able to bring in any real change? Notably, this ministry was earlier held by Harsimrat Badal.
After the 2022 election in Tanda Urmar, where the BSP–Akali Dal alliance candidate Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi finished third with 23,191 votes, the Akali Dal now faces a clear choice for 2027. Should the party give Lakhi another chance to build on the support he received or return to a familiar face like Arvinder Singh Rasulpur, who was the party’s candidate in 2012 and 2017 ? Is Akali Dal aiming for patient rebuilding or does it believe only a tried-and-tested name can revive its base in Tanda Urmar ?
2022 के चुनाव में उड़मुड़ से बसपा–अकाली दल गठबंधन के उम्मीदवार लखविंदर सिंह लखी को 23,191 वोट मिले और वे तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। अब 2027 को लेकर अकाली दल के सामने साफ़ सवाल है। क्या पार्टी लखी को दोबारा मौका देकर धीरे-धीरे अपना आधार मज़बूत करे या फिर अरविंदर सिंह रसूलपुर जैसे पुराने और आज़माए हुए चेहरे पर लौटे, जो 2012 और 2017 में पार्टी के उम्मीदवार रह चुके हैं ? क्या अकाली दल धैर्य के साथ पुनर्निर्माण की राह चुन रहा है या उसे लगता है कि उड़मुड़ में वापसी सिर्फ़ अनुभवी नाम से ही संभव है ?
Fifteen years after its last win in Bhadaur in 2007, the Shiromani Akali Dal is still searching for a revival here. In 2022, Satnam Singh Rahi secured 21,183 votes (16.91%), enough to stay visible but far from a comeback. As 2027 comes closer, the real test is within the party. Will Akali Dal place its faith again in Satnam Singh Rahi to patiently rebuild ground or will it look for a new face. And in a constituency now dominated by AAP, can persistence finally turn into payoff ?
