However, being a first-time MLA is one thing, sustaining public trust is another. Has Bhullar truly justified the emotional faith of voters who saw him as the symbol of new politics, or is the momentum slowly fading away?

ਰਣਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ, ਜੋ AAP ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਹਨ (2016 ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ), ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਟੀ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ‘ਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰ ਹਾਰ ਵੇਖੀ। ਲੋਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ,“ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਕਦਾ।” ਪਰ 2022 ‘ਚ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਸੀਟ ਤੋਂ 19,569 ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੱਭ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਤ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਹੋਰ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ। ਕੀ ਭੁੱਲਰ ‘ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿਆਸਤ’ ਵਾਲੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਤੇ ਖਰੇ ਉਤਰੇ ਹਨ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਲਹਿਰ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਠੰਢੀ ਪੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ?
