His son Aman Arora carried that legacy forward, contesting in 2007 & 2012 (Congress), before switching to Aam Aadmi Party and winning landslide victories in 2017 and 2022, turning Sunam into an AAP stronghold. But as 2027 nears, will Sunam stand by the Arora legacy, the AAP image, or demand a new chapter altogether?

Five years later, in 2022, he won from Patiala Rural, defeating Congress’s Mohit Mohindra and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate to enter the Assembly. As the 2027 elections approach, one question echoes across Patiala, Has Dr. Balbir Singh truly evolved from an “honest doctor” to an “effective legislator,” or has the post-victory comfort made him lose touch with the ground pulse?
