Is Congress genuinely unable to promote younger leadership or unwilling to loosen the grip of an ageing power structure ? And as voters under 50 increasingly shape elections, can a party that struggles to trust its own next generation expect the country’s next generation to trust it ?
जब बीजेपी 45 साल के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष को पीढ़ीगत बदलाव का उदाहरण बनाकर पेश करती है, तो कांग्रेस के अधूरे “50 से कम उम्र के 50” वादे पर अपने-आप सवाल खड़े हो जाते हैं। युवाओं को आधी हिस्सेदारी देने का संकल्प लिए तीन साल हो चुके हैं, लेकिन पार्टी का शीर्ष नेतृत्व आज भी उम्रदराज़ चेहरों के हाथ में दिखता है। क्या कांग्रेस वाकई युवा नेतृत्व को आगे नहीं बढ़ा पा रही या फिर बुज़ुर्ग सत्ता ढांचे की पकड़ ढीली करने को तैयार नहीं है ? और जब 50 से कम उम्र के मतदाता चुनावों की दिशा तय कर रहे हैं, तो क्या जो पार्टी अपनी अगली पीढ़ी पर भरोसा नहीं कर पाती, वह देश की अगली पीढ़ी का भरोसा जीत पाएगी ?
