Punjab's local body election numbers have triggered serious questions for the Congress. While AAP surged from just 69 seats to 958 seats, Congress crashed from 1,399 seats to only 397. At the same time, the BJP jumped from 49 seats to 172, while the Akali Dal slipped from 284 to 192. These figures have intensified the debate over leadership, strategy, and the party's readiness for 2027. This raises an intriguing political question: If Congress lost over 1,000 local body seats compared to the previous election while AAP and BJP both expanded their footprint, is the party facing a temporary setback or a deeper structural problem ?
