The Aam Aadmi Party has announced its first list of 40 candidates for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, months before polling. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been named again from Dhuri, while Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan will contest from Kotkapura. The list also includes jailed minister Sanjeev Arora, who is facing an alleged money-laundering case. The party calls this early announcement a sign of confidence and preparation. But does announcing candidates so early show strength or does it put the party's choices under public scrutiny much sooner ? Is Aam Aadmi Party using early candidate selection to gain an electoral edge or taking a risk by declaring its cards so soon ?
आम आदमी पार्टी ने 2027 के पंजाब विधानसभा चुनावों के लिए मतदान से कई महीने पहले 40 उम्मीदवारों की पहली सूची जारी कर दी है। मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान को एक बार फिर धूरी से उम्मीदवार बनाया गया है, जबकि विधानसभा अध्यक्ष कुलतार सिंह संधवां कोटकपूरा से चुनाव लड़ेंगे। इस सूची में जेल में बंद मंत्री संजीव अरोड़ा का नाम भी शामिल है, जो कथित मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले का सामना कर रहे हैं। पार्टी का कहना है कि इतनी जल्दी उम्मीदवारों की घोषणा करना उसके आत्मविश्वास और तैयारी को दिखाता है। लेकिन क्या इतनी जल्दी उम्मीदवारों के नाम घोषित करना पार्टी की ताकत है या इससे उसके फैसले समय से पहले ही जनता की जांच के दायरे में आ जाएंगे ? क्या आम आदमी पार्टी उम्मीदवारों की जल्दी घोषणा करके चुनावी बढ़त हासिल करना चाहती है या उसने बहुत पहले अपने पत्ते खोलकर जोखिम लिया है ?
