But every time young anger turns into a movement, political actors are ready to step in, claim the narrative and turn that energy into political capital. So here’s the uncomfortable question: Is Gen Z finally taking charge of India’s political future or is politics simply learning how to weaponise Gen Z’s anger, idealism and impatience ?

But Gen Z increasingly chooses its news through digital platforms, following specific journalists, explainers and independent voices instead of sitting through loud prime-time debates. The recent protests have further exposed this divide, with young people relying heavily on digital platforms to share information and challenge television narratives. If political parties once fought to control the television narrative, is Gen Z now taking that power back into its own hands ?
