Punjab Congress has faced repeated internal battles over leadership, with factions around senior leaders clashing over roles and control. The Channi–Warring dispute, protests, boycotts and the change of Punjab in-charge from Bhupesh Baghel to Sachin Pilot have all highlighted how difficult unity has been. So the bigger question is: Has Punjab Congress spent so much energy fighting over leadership that its own internal egos have become a bigger challenge than its political opponents ?
पंजाब कांग्रेस में नेतृत्व को लेकर बार-बार अंदरूनी खींचतान होती रही है। वरिष्ठ नेताओं के बीच गुटबाजी, चन्नी–वड़िंग विवाद, विरोध, बहिष्कार और पंजाब प्रभारी के रूप में भूपेश बघेल की जगह सचिन पायलट की नियुक्ति ने पार्टी की एकजुटता पर सवाल उठाए हैं। ऐसे में बड़ा सवाल है: क्या पंजाब कांग्रेस ने नेतृत्व की लड़ाई में इतनी ऊर्जा लगा दी है कि उसके अपने अंदरूनी मतभेद ही राजनीतिक विरोधियों से बड़ी चुनौती बन गए हैं ?
Charanjit Singh Channi says Punjab Congress has put its internal issues behind it and is now united for the 2027 Assembly battle. Senior leaders have also appeared together after Sachin Pilot’s appointment as Punjab in-charge. But Congress has faced public reports of differences between its senior leaders. Can Congress turn this show of unity into real ground-level teamwork before 2027 or will old rivalries return once the fight for tickets and leadership begins ?
