As the AAP Government in Punjab faces mounting political controversies, legal challenges and an increasingly aggressive opposition, one question is beginning to follow Arvind Kejriwal as much as Bhagwant Mann. The question is: Has Punjab become Kejriwal's biggest political investment, or his biggest political liability ? After presenting Punjab as AAP's model state, can Kejriwal now afford to distance himself whenever the Government faces difficult questions ? And if the 2027 election turns into a referendum on AAP's governance, will voters be judging only Bhagwant Mann, or the leadership and promises of Arvind Kejriwal as well ?
Punjab politics is entering an increasingly uncomfortable phase. Bhagwant Mann is facing the controversies head-on, holding rallies and defending his Government, while Arvind Kejriwal has largely stayed away from the spotlight. If the political pressure keeps mounting and AAP's central leadership eventually asks Bhagwant Mann to step down to contain the damage, will he quietly accept the decision, or refuse to shoulder the entire blame ? Could Punjab witness the biggest confrontation yet between the Chief Minister and the leadership that once projected him ? And if that happens, will AAP's biggest challenge come from the opposition, or from within its own ranks ?
