After winning the Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat and currently serving as a Congress MP, Sher Singh Ghubaya’s political journey reflects both survival and adaptation, from being a two-time Akali MP (2009, 2014) and MLA, to switching to Congress in 2019 and rebuilding his position. Adding to his political footprint, his son Davinder Singh Ghubaya was elected as a Congress MLA from Fazilka in 2017 but lost the seat in 2022, making the family’s long-term electoral strength another question mark ahead of 2027. With a strong Rai Sikh base, and a political family network, the Ghubaya camp still holds influence.
