With Aam Aadmi Party facing criticism over 8 to 10 hour power cuts across Punjab, the electricity issue is fast turning into a direct governance test. Reports claim outages are happening even before major agricultural demand begins, while tube-well season and peak summer heat are still ahead. Questions are also being raised over delayed short-term power purchases and late exchange agreements with hill states such as Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, reportedly effective only from May 1. If shortages are visible before peak demand has even started, what happens when farms need full supply and temperatures rise further ? And for a party elected on promises of better management, could power cuts hurt credibility more than any opposition attack ?
