Just when Punjab thought it had seen every political experiment, Nitish Kumar's JD(U) has entered the state's political arena. But with virtually no electoral base, little grassroots presence and the baggage of being a long-time NDA ally, many believe its role may be less about winning Punjab and more about strengthening the BJP's broader strategy. This raises a bigger question: Is JD(U) seriously fighting for its own political future in Punjab, or simply playing a supporting role in the BJP's game plan ?

Over the years, Punjab Congress has repeatedly watched several prominent leaders walk away after internal disagreements, only to strengthen rival parties. This raises an uncomfortable question: Has the Congress become a factory for producing political turncoats by repeatedly disappointing its own leaders ? If the party keeps creating rebels faster than it creates a roadmap for revival, who is really benefiting from its internal politics ?
