Sharma represents a generation of BJP leaders who rose through the RSS, spent decades building the party in Punjab, and remained loyal when the BJP had limited political space in the state. Today, however, many traditional BJP leaders find themselves increasingly outnumbered in prominent positions by leaders who joined from other parties, creating visible discomfort and quiet resentment within sections of the organisation. In that context, was Sharma's message a subtle reminder that Punjab BJP's old guard is beginning to feel sidelined in the very party they helped build ?
