According to data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the annual Consumer Price Index has increased by 5.5 percent in the month of September, which is the highest rate in a long time.

In Kartarpur, the Shiromani Akali Dal registered wins in 2007 and 2012, but has failed to make a dent since then. In 2022, Akali Dal fought in alliance with the BSP, and BSP candidate Advocate Balwinder Kumar secured 33,709 votes (27.2%), showing visible strength but not enough to reclaim the seat. As 2027 approaches, an important question emerges: can the Akali Dal–BSP combine revive Kartarpur after more than a decade without a win or has the seat moved beyond their old formula ?
