Once close to Charanjit Singh Channi, she was denied the Congress ticket in 2022, a move that pushed her to join the BJP, where she contested in 2022 and finished fourth with 24,735 votes. Later, in 2023, she was expelled from BJP for alleged indiscipline. But in 2024, the party quietly took her back. Yet, even after returning, she has not been projected as a key face for the upcoming battle. Has Nimisha Mehta rebuilt herself enough to become BJP’s serious contender in Garhshankar or is she now only seen as a loud organisational presence who may not be trusted with a ticket again ?
निमिषा मेहता की गढ़शंकर की राजनीतिक यात्रा हमेशा उतार-चढ़ाव से भरी रही है। कभी चरणजीत सिंह चन्नी की करीबी रहीं, लेकिन 2022 में कांग्रेस टिकट से वंचित होने के बाद उन्होंने भाजपा का दामन थाम लिया और उसी साल चुनाव लड़ा, जहां उन्हें 24,735 वोट मिले और वे चौथे स्थान पर रहीं। इसके बाद 2023 में अनुशासन भंग करने के आरोप में पार्टी ने उन्हें बाहर कर दिया। मगर 2024 में भाजपा ने उन्हें चुपचाप वापस भी ले लिया। वापसी के बाद भी पार्टी ने उन्हें 2027 की लड़ाई के लिए कोई बड़ा चेहरा नहीं बनाया है। तो असली सवाल यह है, क्या निमिषा मेहता खुद को इतना मजबूत बना चुकी हैं कि भाजपा उन्हें गढ़शंकर में गंभीर उम्मीदवार माने या अब उन्हें सिर्फ एक तेज़-तर्रार संगठनात्मक चेहरा माना जा रहा है जिस पर टिकट देने में पार्टी हिचकेगी ?
