A key organisational pillar for the party, he contested both the 2018 bypoll and the 2022 Assembly election, but could not secure a win despite a strong grassroots presence. Now, with the 2027 election approaching and AAP suddenly without its most familiar Shahkot face, the big question is, who will AAP field from Shahkot in 2027, and can it even stay competitive in a seat traditionally dominated by Congress and SAD ?

ਰਤਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਕੜ ਕਲਾਂ, ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਹਕੋਟ ’ਚ AAP ਦੇ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਲਕਾ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਸਨ, 2023 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣਾ ਕਰ ਗਏ। ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਤਮਕ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਸਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ 2018 ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਅਤੇ 2022 ਦੀ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ ਪਰ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਪਕੜ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇ। ਹੁਣ 2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ AAP ਕੋਲ ਸ਼ਾਹਕੋਟ ’ਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ-ਪਹਿਚਾਣਿਆ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ। ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਸਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ AAP 2027 ’ਚ ਸ਼ਾਹਕੋਟ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸੀਟ ’ਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ’ਚ ਟਿਕ ਸਕੇਗੀ, ਜਿਥੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਦਬਦਬਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ?
