So as 2027 approaches, the real question is, has Laddi truly built a long-term hold over Shahkot, or is his back-to-back victory hiding the fact that his grip on the constituency is steadily weakening beneath the surface ?

2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਾਡੀ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਕੋਟ ਵਿੱਚ 21 ਸਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਢਾਹ ਕੇ 38,801 ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਲੀਡ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਹਿੱਲ ਗਈ ਸੀ। 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੋਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ 24% ਘੱਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਅਨੁਪਾਤ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ AAP ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਕਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਗਈ, ਜਦਕਿ SAD ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਅਧਾਰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਹੁਣ 2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਸਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਲਾਡੀ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਕੋਟ ‘ਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਪਕੜ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਦੋ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਿੱਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਕੜ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ?
